The College of West Anglia is a large general FE college with major centres in King’s Lynn, Norfolk and Wisbech and Milton in Cambridgeshire. The college’s stated vision is “changing lives through learning” and the college's curriculum reflects this vision. The curriculum portfolio spans Level 1 to 5 and higher education is provided in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University.
The college offers programmes in all of the Subject Sector Categories (Learning Areas) which meet regional and national needs.
The college recruits from a wide, largely rural catchment area covering a multitude of villages and small market towns across mainly West Norfolk, the Cambridgeshire Fens and beyond. The college has 11000 students, with 1100 work based apprentices and over 800 staff support the learners.
Two of the college's strategic ambitions are to inspire all learners to achieve their full potential and to develop excellence through partnerships. These key ambitions reflect the college's approach to support businesses and to ensure the success of all students. The college has invested £50m in its estates over the last 4 years and has excellent facilities with industry standard equipment to support all areas of the curriculum.
The college champions vocational skills development and is the largest participant in the eastern region in national and international skills competitions. Additionally, the college has a number of partner colleges in Europe and this enables staff, students and employers to develop skills and understanding which enhance both individuals and the local region.
