Skyblue

“Joining the National Skills Academy for Nuclear has allowed Skyblue to penetrate the nuclear industry very effectively in a short space of time whilst continuously improving our knowledge of the political and economic drivers affecting the industry at large…”

Why we got involved in the National Skills Academy for Nuclear
Alan Graver, Managing Director of Skyblue Research, explains,
As a professional research company well-versed in delivering sector skills projects, we saw huge opportunity for developing our knowledge of the nuclear sector and identifying possible commercial opportunities via the Skills Academy. “We expected, over time, to become a leading supplier of research and evaluation services to the sector and its supply chain with 5 years.”

 Useful aspects of membership
“The most useful aspect of membership for Skyblue is the first-class information and communication provided by the Skills Academy, allowing us to keep up-to-date with the significant skills challenges facing the industry."

Benefits of membership
“The most significant impact of our membership has been the realisation of our objective to become the official research and evaluation partner to the National Skills Academy for Nuclear until December 2012. This means that almost every day, our company is engaged in live contemporary research with the industry in areas such as Nuclear Skills Passport, Leadership and Management, Community Apprenticeships and Technical and Behavioural Competency Frameworks."

The Future
“Building on this official role, Skyblue hopes to work directly with regulators, strategic partners (e.g. Nuclear Decommissioning Authority), site licence companies and supply chain companies in ways that will help them improve their workforce performance; measure staff and customer satisfaction; and promote their talent and capability." (e.g. by helping them to develop case studies or promotional films).

Is it for me?
“Associate Membership provides a tangible return on our investment, and is effective for any company genuinely committed to adding value in the nuclear sector.”
