The afternoon highlighted the effective collaboration between the National Skills Academy for Nuclear, National Nuclear Laboratory and Prospect Union on the skills agenda for the nuclear industry.

The event focused on how the organisations are working strategically to develop and nurture the UK’s nuclear talent.  A primary focus of this partnership is to ensure the nuclear workforce is furnished with the high quality skills and training opportunities required to provide the nuclear industry with the talented and skilled workforce it needs to be a world leading sector.

One particular area of focus was the newly developed Award for Nuclear Industry Awareness, which was launched early November 2009.  A product of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear, the Award has been designed with industry involvement to provide people who are embarking on a career in the nuclear sector with a foundation level of understanding of the industry and its specific requirements.

The National Nuclear Laboratory and Prospect Union both demonstrated their support for the Award for Nuclear Industry Awareness.
