“The National Skills Academy for Nuclear has assisted Bethell in developing our workforce to enable us to expand our business within the Nuclear Sector” Chris Cayton, Operations Director, Bethell

Bethell Construction
Bethell is a multi-faceted construction company based in Manchester, offering a comprehensive construction service throughout the north of England.

Why we joined the Skills Academy
We joined the Skills Academy in November 2011. We wanted to understand Nuclear Training Requirements to allow us to work in the Nuclear Environment.

Bury College
Bury College Business Solutions was established in 2000 as the commercial training arm of Bury College. Our aim is to help you improve the skills of your employees and increase your business performance.  Bury College joined the Skills Academy in September 2012 and became the first Further Education College in Greater Manchester to be accredited by The National Skills Academy for Nuclear as a Quality Assured Provider.

Lauran Chatburn CBE, Principal and Chief Executive of Bury College, said
“I am delighted that Bury College has become the first College in the UK to have successfully delivered classroom based training for the Triple Bar. We have worked
closely with Bethell Construction and The National Skills Academy for Nuclear to ensure Bethell’s employees have received the highest standard of training that meets
the needs of the company and their workforce. We look forward to a long and thriving partnership in this new and vital employment sector.”

The Partnership
The Skills Academy brought Bethell Construction and Bury College together in order to support the aims of Bethell Construction in up skilling their workforce.  In February 2012 the partnership took off and Bury College delivered the Triple Bar to the first 16 employees from Bethell Construction, the first Class Room Delivery in the UK.
